Established in 1872, Yellowstone was the world's first National Park, extending into Montana not far from Billings. Yellowstone National Park has many natural features that visitor's can enjoy, including Yellowstone River, geysers, hot springs, vegetation and wildlife.

The northwestern end of Yellowstone River crosses the National Park, where it forms Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Canyon, and empties into the Missouri River on its opposite side. It is an excellent river for water rafting, camping, and other outdoor activities.

Little Battlefield National Monument was originally established in 1879 as a cemetery that preserved the graves of soldiers that died in the battle of the Little Bighorn between the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne and the U.S. Army in 1876. Little Battlefield Park includes famous sites like Custer's Last Stand, Custer Hill, and Battle Ridge.
